As this is our 20th year producing AEC salary guides I thought some nostalgic fun might be a good idea amid the current political nonsense.
More wonderful 1999 facts first:
Topically, for Mrs. May, “…Baby One more Time” was No.1 in the ‘hit parade’ for Britney Spears this week in 1999. With Steps’ “Better Best Forgotten” No.1 the week before!!!
And, jumping forward 3 months, on June 14, Conservative leader, William Hague hails strong European Election results as vindication of his party’s opposition to the single European currency!
And, Nokia released the wonderful 3310 model (see pic). Those were the days – when an app was what you took when people started talking about football.
Now for those salaries. Although back in ‘analogue’ 1999 we were focussed purely on Architecture, it’s interesting to see what the national average pay was back then.
