With the launch of the BIM Career Ladder last month, we have the beginnings of an industry standard for BIM skills.

At the heart of the BIM Career Ladder is the  BIM Competency Table  – the result of  a collaborative project to identify how tasks are allocated in a typical BIM team.  By drilling into the table we can focus specifically on the primary tasks a typical BIM Coordinator will perform.

It is expected that the importance of tasks and competencies required will differ from company to company.  The BIM Competency Table is deliberately generic to provide a pan industry point of reference.
