Having graduated as a Civil Engineer, David has spent over 30 years in the construction industry. Since 1998 he has been at the forefront of BIM and digital innovation. He is responsible for creating and ensuring best practice BIM standards at Skanska. As co-author of the revised CPIC Code of Practice for ‘Production Information’ and member of the BSI Drafting Committees for BS 1192:2017, PAS 1192-2 and ISO 19650, his knowledge is rare, his advice invaluable and succinct.

TIP 2: KNOW WHAT BIM IS
There isn’t such a thing as a discipline called BIM, rather it is a set of tools and processes enabled by People.
TIP 3: BE DIFFERENT FROM THE CROWD
You therefore need to develop people skills, be an influencer and work out what it means to be a Digital Coach.
TIP 4: IF IT DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT, THEN IT PROBABLY ISN’T
And remember, it’s about collaboration, working together to achieve a better result, you can’t do it all on your own.
