A BIM career ladder – update#2

BIM CAREER LADDER UPDATE #2:

THE ONE WITH THE PROTOTYPE

Once again, many thanks to all for your contributions, we’re gathering serious momentum and moving forwards at pace now.

Two items to bring to your attention this week:

ITEM 1:

SUGGESTIONS ON ADDITIONS TO THE REQUIREMENTS LIST:

1: Review asset information models for compliance against standards.

As this is mostly done by the end client or in FM at stage 7, do we include it in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is this?

2: Open up the COBie line items to read something like ‘COBie/Asset data requirements’.

COBie is a subject matter in itself.  With so many levels and requirements how do we narrow this down – or do we need to?  Has anyone ever done a complete drop?

3: Perform and report cost/benefit analysis.

Do we include this in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is it?

4: Software and process use cases.

Do we include this in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is it?

 5: Project resourcing.

Do we include this in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is it?

6: BIM scope requirements for consultants/supply chain contracts.

Do we include this in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is it?

 7: Client reports / Company KPI’s.

Do we include this in our requirements list and if, so, who’s PRIMARY TASK is it?

ITEM 2:

WHERE AM I NOW? PROTOTYPE v1.0

Here is the link to the Manual on how to use the first  ‘where am I now?‘ and ‘what do I need to do to improve’ prototype.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.
