BIM Career Ladder update.  The ‘where am I now‘ BIM competency assessment tool prototype is now up and running.   Use it to assess current competency and identify skills gaps.  In this prototype phase we are simply testing the methodology and user experience.   So the niceties like printing, sexy graphics etc. are to be added.  Please test it out and let us know how it can be improved.  For the latest updates and links to the assessment, manual, definitions etc. click here.

 

We are treated to two ‘this is not a blog’s from Mr. Smith this week.  In episode #10 he waxes lyrical about the lack of BIM awareness in the industry and in psalm #11 he opens the door for you to debate if we have enough rules.  Feel free to engage.

An interesting read on the “One Za’abeel” project in Dubai where 4D modelling on the ‘world’s largest cantilever’ has saved £12.5m and knocked 70 days off the programme according to the project team.

• The London Build Expo is happening next Wednesday and Thursday – we recommend attending the BIM & Digital Construction Summit there.
• Build2Perform is also taking place in the same location (Olympia, London) on Tuesday and Wednesday, so if you are there for the week then why not go to both?
