BIMBeing: the journey (T minus 2 days)

AEC, this is for you…

I personally have nothing positive to say for the term ‘blog’.  In fact, there aren’t many social media posts that I actually like (animal videos excluded). I don’t see purpose in them, I therefore don’t read them and I very rarely consider authoring them (again, animal posts excluded). For me, accurately or otherwise, posts fall into just three categories:

  1. The unrelenting posts about food, most of which you will never bother to prepare, which succeed only in making you feel unjustifiably hungry;
  2. Those trying to influence you to do/buy/see/wear/jump on your head and flip a bottle, guised as something the author believes in but in reality are nothing short of a paid advertisement for something you neither want or need;
  3. Finally, my vote for worst of the blogging world, are those describing in great and pretentious detail exactly the circumstances in which the author has ‘found their true self’ whilst exploring a distant, exotic continent. These I like to describe as Long Holidays for the Unemployed. It’s great for the author, and we’re elated for them, but if we’re being truly honest we don’t really care too much.

Now that I’ve successfully offended #everyone, it’s time to introduce something new. What if we could share something different, something…useful?

If you’ve read this far then I’m already grateful.

AEC, this is for you. Whether you’re within the industry or showing an interest from the side-lines, the aim is to create content that is informative, enjoyable and to some extent encouraging, especially if you’re starting out or moving up. It will be a journey of sorts, to include past experiences, current affairs and next steps. There should be plenty to share.

I make no promises, but we hope for something useful. Watch this space.   Next update tomorrow…
