5 STEPS TO ATTRACTING BIM TALENT

THE CHALLENGE

If you have ever advertised for BIM specialists you will know how frustrating it can be finding a good choice of relevant talent.

The 5-steps to attracting BIM talent is a tried and tested system that will help you attract more of the right candidates.

WHY USE THE 5 STEPS?

Supply and demand!

THE SUPPLY OF GOOD BIM TALENT IS AT AN ALL TIME LOW

According to Mike Johnson at JohnsonBIM, the number of candidates actively seeking jobs is at an all time low. The pandemic has increased nervousness generally and particularly with the more risk averse younger generation (Gen Z).

THE DEMAND FOR GOOD BIM TALENT IS INCREASING RAPIDLY

As more projects start, demand is rising quickly.

More projects require more ‘BIM presence’ so the demand for BIM talent is rising exponentially.

Budgets remain tight across the industry. This is forcing recruiters to narrow their focus on more affordable candidates – the younger, Gen Zers – the shallowest talent pool.

With demand increasing and supply reducing it is only going to get more difficult to find already scarce talent. Many clients are already struggling to find good candidates with traditional job adverts not delivering.

In such  highly competitive market place, adverts need to work harder. Here are 5 steps to help you create better adverts, increase interest and drive better response for you:

USING THE 5 STEPS

The 5 steps for attracting talent follow tried and tested marketing principles: Attention, Interest, Desire, Conviction and Action (AIDCA).

The right content is vital and the flow from step to step makes this process work. Each step simply serves to move your reader to the next. If any steps are weak, the reader loses interest and the whole process breaks down. But if each is strong, you will get the improved response you want.

If you want to attract scarce BIM talent more easily, click on the links below for to learn more:

Step 1: Attention:

Make sure your adverts are seen by the right candidates.

Step 2: Interest:

Make sure candidates read your opportunity.

Step 3: Desire:

Make sure candidates want to join you.

Step 4: Conviction:

Make sure candidates are compelled to apply for your opportunity.

Step 5: Action:

Make sure candidates actually click the apply button.
