What are our clients looking for when they want a good BIM Co-ordinator?

The answer is not as simple as it seems.  It depends what level of capability they need. For more details about levels of capability, click here.

We have put the results in this table.  It is designed to align with our career ladder and salary guide.

CONCLUSION

It turns out that it isn’t rocket science at all. Level differentiation (ie the potential for career progression) is defined as much by comprehension, communication and commitment as it is with technical proficiency or BIM knowledge.

Whether they are looking for an affordable BEGINNER that is stepping up from a Technician level or an EXPERT, work ethic ranks highest with time management, self-motivation, communication and solution finding skills following closely behind.

Clients will invest in helping good talent progress but without the personal ambition to advance these primary skills they are much less enthusiastic.
