Although bounce-back is unlikely to be rapid for our industry, we are beginning to see the first chinks of light-after-lockdown, with construction being rightly heralded as a priority in recovery.

It’s encouraging to see No.10 getting ahead of the curve and accelerating the procurement of new projects.  Nevertheless there will be some pain before we recover fully.

“This is an important time for the industry, and a key focus currently is job retention and creation.”

Eddie Tuttle, Director of Policy at CIOB

There is tangible anticipation that these new government projects will both mandate and accelerate digital construction.

Some firms will be well-placed to capitalise on this. For the vanguard of the industry, committed to good BIM and differentiating themselves, there has never been a better time to recruit exceptional talent. However, finding it has always been a challenge.

Finding exceptional BIM Talent

DBE.careers is a trusted and unique source of specialist BIM career intelligence and is the go-to destination for the BIM-career minded. It makes sense to join forces with JohnsonBIM, who have developed highly-specialised knowledge in discerning the best BIM talent over 30 years in AEC recruitment, to create a specialist BIM-only jobs board that will aggregate all BIM jobs in one place.

This one-stop jobs board will make it easier to find scarce BIM jobs and because it will be hosted in a BIM-only environment, it will increase the quality of applications.

We are now inviting employers to join us in this project. As part of our mission to help the industry bounce back from Covid, all job listings will be free for the first three months. We expect this time to be the most challenging for BIM experts seeking new opportunities and when supply will be at its peak.

We will promote this aggregation of BIM roles to our large database of BIM specialist talent, who will be able to apply directly for jobs. In a time where every cost is rightly being interrogated in the boardroom, employers will have zero commission to pay for these direct hires.

Registered users will soon be able to post any existing or new opportunities directly onto the website, with simple reporting available for post views and applications. Our recruitment experts can also provide advice on salaries and writing effective role descriptions to attract the best talent – or they can provide complete listing management for time-poor clients.

We hope this initiative will help the hundreds of talented people who will soon be looking for work, and those companies looking for BIM expertise.

If you have digital construction needs to resource in the near future, simply register below to post your BIM jobs for free!

I am determined to help anyone enthusiastic about their career in digital construction make the most of it. For 20 years I specialised in architectural recruitment before nailing my colours to the BIM mast in 2008. Hopefully, I have made a 'positive' difference to a few people's careers in that time. What I have learned over the years is that too much of the genuine talent is squandered. There is not enough information out there to help. It's out there but not shared. So, my solution is to find it and share it in this free knowledge 'hub' for anyone working in the Digital Built Environment - or thinking about joining us. If it doesn't deliver what you want - let me know!
