NAIL THAT INTERVIEW
It’s January, the construction industry has started 2021 with renewed confidence, there are more BIM jobs being advertised. It’s interview season.
If you are looking for a good career move, and you have been invited for an interview, how do you nail it and standout from the other interviewees?
Here’s the latest advice from the experts at JohnsonBIM:
BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW
Make sure the interviewers are looking forward to interviewing you because your application was so impressive. This means a well presented CV with relevant information easy to find. Even this is a rare find with most candidates so differentiate yourself and take the time to write a good CV
If you have taken the trouble to include (glowing) references from previous employers you will already be ahead of your competition.
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Prove you are genuinely interested in the opportunity and not just applying for any job in the hope you get it. Find out as much as you can about the company, the interviewers and the job. Ask what format the interview will take. Don’t pester for information, most of what you need is online.
If it’s a remote interview, here are the 5 (seemingly obvious but rarely followed) rules to good preparation for a virtual interview.
