Here’s what we have found most interesting this week (and another initiative we are excited to announce!)…
READYING FOR RECOVERY – FEE-FREE RECRUITMENT
To make it easier to find scarce BIM jobs and increase the quality of applications, we are launching a new specialist BIM-only jobs board that will aggregate all BIM jobs in one place. We are now inviting employers to join us in this project. As part of our COVID-19 recovery mission, job posts will be free – read more here.
SUPPORT FOR BIM EXPERTS
We have had a fantastic response to the BIM Expert Directory launch last week and we are adding new experts to the list every day. We are very excited to be making a difference at this time of need and, hopefully, creating opportunities that could transform people’s lives.

ARTICLES OF THE WEEK
Because of the amount of interest we have had in the BIM Expert Directory, we thought it would be interesting to share our research on portfolio life. The beauty is not only that you could be working for different clients on different projects in any one week but you don’t have to be all about BIM. You could be doing BIM consultancy 3 days a week and selling roses the rest! That’s disruptive.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“When you embrace the portfolio career, you’re not just broadening your skills and enjoying the variation that comes with it, but you’re also opening up your attitude to considering new avenues.“

JOB OF THE WEEK – soon!
With focus swinging from the optimism of ‘re-opening’ back to Covid numbers again, uncertainty is king and it is increasingly unlikely that we will see a large choice of BIM centric jobs return this year. Unfortunately, we anticipate a lot more redundancies over the summer as furloughing reduces and overheads are reduced. This is why we have built the new jobs board – to get what jobs there are all in one place. As jobs are listed we will feature the top ones here. Watch this space!
Until the future looks more certain we believe clients will look at freelancers as a risk free alternative to full-time employment – hence launching the BIM Expert Directory. We hope you find this useful whether you are a Client looking for genuine, pre-vetted, BIM expertise or an Expert looking for more freelance work, a short term stop gap or to take advantage of this unique opportunity to develop a portfolio career.
