To find out what matters most to the BIM Community when looking for a new job and test the latest theories on generational changes, we did a quick, ‘toe-in-the-water’ poll on social media and the results are in. But do you agree?
ABOUT THE QUICK SURVEY:
We asked our BIM community, when they look for a new job, how they rank:
- Career progression
- Well-being
- Salary
For the generational perspective, we broke the results down into the following categories:
- Generation Z (born 1997+)
- Millennial (1981 to 1996)
- Generation X (1965 to 1980)
- Baby Boomers (1946 to 1964)
THE RESULTS IN SUMMARY:
- Millennials focus equally on career progression and money. Not well-being.
- For Generation Z, all 3 priorities are equally important.
- Gen X are more money focussed.
- Baby Boomers are more ‘well-being’ centric.

Do you agree with the results? The poll is still open so have your say here.
